Suzanne Moxhay’s work explores the boundaries between inside and outside and between nature and the artificial through the blending of a fictitious imaginary space and a photographed ‘real’ space. She uses a diverse range of techniques including collage, model making, print making and photography to create these scenes which are reminiscent of empty film sets. Her method was inspired by early techniques in film making and cinema continues to inform her practice. In these empty spaces the viewer is invited to speculate on possible narratives whilst also questioning the construction of the image itself.
