Thomas Kilpper, born in Stuttgart in 1956, studied at the academies in Nuremberg and Frankfurt am Main under Alfonso Hüppi and Georg Herold. He has been honored with numerous prizes and scholarships, e.g. in 2004 the HAP Grieshaber Prize from the Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn, 2011 Prize from the Villa Romana, Florence. In addition to his interventions, his works have also been recognized internationally in institutional solo exhibitions such as 2016 BOZAR/Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels, 2015 National Gallery, Oslo, 2012 Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen and many more. Thomas Kilpper is a professor at the Academy of Art and Design in Bergen, Norway. He lives in Berlin and runs the exhibition space “after the butcher” here.
