Born in 1960 in Akita, Japan. Lives and works in Tokyo, Japan
She graduated from the Department of Painting (Japanese Painting) at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1985. After working as toy, furniture, miscellaneous goods designer, Konoike starts painting in 1998. She freely combines such methods as painting, sculpture, animation, illustrated books, and games to create magnificent installations expressing modern myths.
