Tracey Emin CBE RA evidences what she calls “the magic and alchemy” of printmaking in this visceral work. It’s one of three special prints the artist created for RA Editions.
Emin’s passion for the form comes from its unpredictability and intimacy – you never really know how the final work will look until you turn the paper over. Apparent is the quality of her lines; as in other areas of her practice, she has drawn on her own life experiences.
Emin produced Dark Womb while in the RA Schools’ printmaking studios, alongside our students.
All proceeds from the sale of RA Editions prints go directly to support the Royal Academy Schools.
