From the private collection of Sylvan Cole, the publisher of this woodcut, the author of the first catalogue raisonné of Barnet’s prints, and the artist’s close friend and collaborator for over half a century.
The block was executed by Barnet in 1940; the edition was published by Associated American Artists (then directed by Sylvan Cole) in 1982.
An outstanding proof on extremely fine Japanese kozo paper.
