Etching, softground etching, 1969 printed in 1970. From: Illustrations for Six Fairy Tales From the Brothers Grimm.
An early unisgned printer’s proof issued to Rudolf Rieser, the binder who created the leather bindings for the book. Printed on handmade paper by W.S Hodgkinson, Bath. Made especially for this edition with the watermark ‘DH. PP’.
All the plates were issued without text and are therefore on full sheets.
