The work of Bea Veness explores the possibilities of screen printing and linocut, combining the flat areas of colour afforded by the former with the direct hardness of the latter. Inspired by mid-century modernist printmakers, Veness creates semi-abstract compositions based on interior and exterior spaces, flattening the pictorial space into motif. Drawing upon the world around, Veness breaks down her images into the essential of line and colour with a keen sense of design.
