Walter Oltmann is a leading South African contemporary artist who works mainly with sculpture. His woven wire forms generally represent natural phenomena. Alongside his three- dimensional works, he also draws and creates prints that are closely linked to his sculptures. His stone lithographs and monotypes created at Atelier le Grand Village highlight this
relationship. His work is found in several important collections including the Iziko South African National Gallery, Cape Town and the Seattle Art Museum, Washington, USA.
