Printmaking – Aspinwall Editions – Meet the Printer
Aspinwall Editions is a fine art printmaking publisher, dealer, and studio with facilities in New York City and Rheine, Germany. Founded in 2012 by Ann Aspinwall and Knut Willich, Aspinwall Editions specializes in silkscreen, intaglio, and relief processes, and offers contract printing services in addition to collaborations with invited artists.
Knut was formerly the proprietor of Atelier Limited in Münster, Germany, and taught print-making there at the University of Applied Sciences. He is also the founder and chairman of the Print Association Bentlage in Rheine, where he organizes an international print-making symposium, SNAP, every three years. Ann previously worked as a printer at Pace Editions and as a Print Specialist in the Print Collection of the New York Public Library.
In the course of their carriers Knut and Ann have worked with artists such as Ghada Amer and Reza Farkhondeh, Karl Bohrmann, Ingrid Calame, Jim Dine, Mark Dion, Tara Donovan, Inka Essenhigh, Norman Foster, Helen Frankenthaler, Arturo Herrera, Ilya Kabakov, Ellsworth Kelly, Per Kirkeby, Nicola Lopez, Robert Mangold, Brice Marden, Richard Meier, Alessandro Mendini, Paul Morrison, Claes Oldenburg, Nam June Paik, Kiki Smith, Jessica Stockholder, Rosemarie Trockel, and Wolfgang Troschke.
Aspinwall Editions has published and produced prints by Jane Kent, Victoria Burge, Michael Kukla, and Ann Aspinwall.
Aspinwall Editions’s clients include the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, the Smith College Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Hood Museum of Art, and the U.S. Department of State Art Bank. Aspinwall Editions is a member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler e.V.
