Appropriation Art
A guest curated exhibition by Emma Poole, owner of Opus, UK.
“In visual arts, appropriation refers to the borrowing or recycling of objects and materials and re-contextualising them to create something new. Perhaps most famous of all appropriation artists is Marcel Duchamp, who introduced the idea of the ready made, and the Pop artists, who re-purposed images from popular culture and elevated everyday objects from low to high art.”
