Daniel Kelly Biography

Daniel Kelly (b. 1947), is a Kyoto-based artist internationally renowned for unique images utilising innovative textures.  He has resided in Japan for over forty years and studied under the woodblock print master Tokuriki Tomikichiro, a thirteenth-generation artist.

Kelly constantly experiments with different media and styles, and his prints have utilised a combination of cement block, lithography, woodblock, hand-colouring and chine-colle.  His works are included in the permanent collections of the British Museum, London, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY and MOMA NY among others.
